Art Show and Sale
All day, 10 am to 5 pm
California artists will display and sell their artwork—watercolors, ceramics, glass, greeting cards, baskets, and more. Participating artists: Patti Sheehan, Hisako Koga, Ronnie Wrest, Jeri Burzin, T. S. Wood, Keith Olivas, Hanford Bonsai Society, and John Cox of the Fire Arts Club.

Sand Stone Art by Bob Sandoval
Two sessions: 11:30 am and 2 pm
Create your own decorative sand stone, using a mold, sand, sea shells, and bits of stained glass. Limited to 12 students per session.

KAZARI: Bonsai Display Competition

Hands-on Pottery Experience
All day, 10 am to 5 pm in the Art Show area
Come and decorate your own pottery! Ceramic artist Garrett Masterson and the Reedley College Clay Club will demonstrate how to glaze your own piece.

Hands-on Origami
12:30 pm to 5 pm
Origami artist Ray Thomas will introduce the delights of origami.

Taiko Performance by Fresno Gumyo Taiko
1 pm and 2:30 pm outdoors
Taiko, which literally means “fat drum,” has been described as the heartbeat of Japan. It s powerful rhythms, harmonies, and movements are unforgettable.

Bonsai Exhibition at the Center’s Bonsai Garden
10 am to 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm to 4 pm

Bonsai Auction
1:30 pm outdoors
The auction items will be selected bonsai and potential bonsai plant material from the current inventory of the Center’s bonsai collection.

Ticketed Activities (pre-registration required)

Ikebana Demonstration
Two sessions: 10:30 am and 2 pm outdoors
Sylvia B. Owens, master of the Koryū and Sogetsu ikebana schools, will show how to make different flower arrangements.
45 minutes: $10 for members; $15 for non-members

Clark Garden Tours
Six tours: 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm
Landscape architect Bob Boro and docents will take you on a tour of the beautiful private Japanese garden.
60 minutes: $7 for members; $10 for non-members

Tea Demonstration
Two sessions: 12 pm and 3:30 pm on the garden deck
Mrs. Kay Tokumoto, a master of the Urasenke School, will perform a tea demonstration. Observe the graceful movements of Mrs. Tokumoto preparing and serving tea.
45 minutes: $5 for members; $7 for non-members

Bonsai Workshop
Two sessions: 1:00 and 3:00 pm in Tent A
Participants will learn the fundamentals of bonsai and leave the workshop with an actual bonsai they have created.
90 minutes: $20 for members; $25 for non-members (Fee includes a bonsai tree.)

Bonsai Workshop for Kids
10:30 am in Tent A
Hanford Bonsai Society will conduct a bonsai workshop just for kids, ages 6 to 12. Explore the art of bonsai!
60 minutes: $15 for members; $20 for non-members

Bonsai Garden Tours
Two tours: 11:30 am and 2 pm
Bonsai Curator, Bob Hilvers, will take you on a tour of the Center’s Bonsai Garden.
30 minutes: $5 for members; $7 for non-members
